The Apocalypse Crusade

by Peter Meredith

In an apocalypse there is definitely a beginning where mistakes are made and the seeds of evil are allowed to sprout and take shape. However, an end is not so certain. Once an Apocalypse occurs not even death is certain. Sometimes death is only the beginning.

At first light that morning, Dr Lee steps into the Walton facility on the initial day of human trials; she can barely contain her excitement. The labs are brand spanking new and everything is sharp and clean. They’ve been built to her specifications and are, without a doubt, a scientist’s dream. Yet even better than the gleaming instruments is the fact that Walton is where cancer is going to be cured once and for all. It’s where Dr. Lee is going to become world famous…only she doesn’t realize what she’s going to be famous for.

By midnight of that first day, Walton is a place of fire, of blood and of death, a death that, like the Apocalypse, is seemingly never ending.

MOONCHILD Read-Along Event

I’m gearing up for Liberation, book two in the Moonchild series, so I’m hosting a read-along event on Facebook!

Here’s how it works:
1. Participants will read the scheduled chapters on their own each day. Reading ahead is welcomed and encouraged, but no spoilers in the discussions, please! If you get behind, you’ll notice that I’ve scheduled weekend to catch up time.

2. Be sure to drop in every day on the event page. We will be having heated discussions about the book and characters as we read. We will also play some games, give away some prizes, get to know each other, and have loads of fun!

3. We will have “mile marker” checkpoint posts clearly marked every few chapters. Each mile marker contains a giveaway. When you reach a mile marker chapter, be sure to answer the question posted and enter for a chance to win!

4. Participants who post a brand new review for the book will be eligible for the The “New Reviews” giveaway.

5. And all participants will be eligible to enter the final giveaway at the end of the Read-along.

And there you have it. I can’t wait to share Scarlett and her world with all of you!

Here’s the schedule for you:

Moonchild is upper young adult (think older teens with plenty of adult appeal), and a mix of steampunk, dystopian, sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic genres. It’s available now on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, and if you don’t have the book, you can get it HERE.

by Scott McGlasson

Ten years After civilization collapsed, a walled city is the only world Stace Tomlinson has ever known. Undead ferals and living marauders still prowl the wilderness outside, but the people of Shawnee Lodge have adapted as best they can. With ammunition, electronics, and petrol all distant memories from Before, people have once again taken up the bow. When almost all the horses and cattle were slaughtered, they learnt how to turn ferals into dociles, pulling their ploughs and wagons, turning the wheels of their mills.

It’s a simple life of crops and crafts, but Stace doesn’t want to end up stuck on a farm. She wants to follow in her father’s footsteps, outside the walls. Rob Tomlinson is a Ranger – one of the best, a master of fieldcraft and feral hunting – and living in the shadow of such a fearsome, well-respected figure comes with its own problems. The pressure Stace feels to match up to her father’s expectations can be unbearable. Sometimes, though, life has a habit of showing you one path, then leading you down another.

Stace has struggled to prove to her father that she’s up to the job. Today, though, she’s going to have to step up. Both of their lives depend on it.

Not Dead Yet

Ireland, 1858 – The Potato Famine is over, but not the fallout. With a million dead and another million of their best forced to leave the country, Ireland is woefully unprepared for what’s to come. When the famine victims rise as zombies intent only on devouring human flesh, they face little opposition from a depleted army and a drained and weary population.

When the cowardly, womanising eighteen year old Jack Strapper is expelled from Eton College, he’s tricked into joining the army and posted to an Irish cavalry regiment in the false belief Ireland is safe, he’ll have an easy life and that the ladies love a dashing Englishman in uniform.

When he arrives in Londonderry to join the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars, an understrength cavalry unit lead by a mad colonel, the now Captain Jack Strapper is horrified to discover the nation is already amidst an ongoing apocalypse. Hardly the easy life he was promised, Strapper tries all he can to shirk and avoid his duty. Yet arriving as a volunteer foreigner, his new comrades mistakenly believe him to be brave and a hero in the making. This false belief is further backed up by an astonishing run of coincidences and good fortune which soon cements his reputation as a zombie killing warrior. Nothing could be further from the truth and there is one man with a personal vendetta, Captain Lynch, who refuses to fall for the tales of Captain Strapper’s heroics and bravery, and will stop at nothing to expose him for the coward he really is.

Dead Saga Book 1

by Claire C. Riley

Nina’s life was irrevocably changed when humanity’s dead began to rise.
Now, she lives behind the walls.

The barricaded cities, erected by the government to protect the remnants of civilization, have become a brutal dictatorship- causing the inhabitants within to starve, steal and claw for survival. Life behind the walls has become as terrifying as roaming the zombie-ridden landscape beyond.
Citizens trade what they can to gain food, water, and shelter. Nina has only one currency—her body and she is tired of submitting herself to the greedy hands of the self-proclaimed leaders.

An opportunity to escape presents itself in the fate of a young girl named Emily-Rose. For the price of a stale piece of bread, she is set for banishment from the city, and most likely a horrific death at the hands of the deaders. Nina tells herself that it is sympathy and not self-preservation that makes her follow the young girl out of the walled metropolis, and into the overgrown world beyond.

Unused to fighting the deaders, Nina tries to scrounge for her survival and against her better judgment, begins to care for Emily-Rose. However, when you have a bread-stealing liability providing your only back up, survival seems even tougher. Nina is forced to fight for their lives, and with every zombie slain, she becomes fiercer, faster – a grim reaper with her not-so-sharp butcher’s knife.

Along the path to a safe-haven that might not exist, Nina and Emily-Rose meet Mikey who introduces them to a new life they could not imagine, a life above the ground. However, this new world brings new dangers, and darker shadows than she knew.

Nina finds out that the deaders aren’t the only thing to fear beyond the wall.

And that fear will not be ignored, or Forgotten.
