Kyra knows she’s screwed. Trapped in a school while zombies stumble past, just waiting for the survivors cowering inside to come out to play, she has no hope of getting out alive. She’s not the only one, either, and sexy fellow survivor Riley seems hell bent on making their last few hours alive memorable ones.
But in a twist of fate neither one could have seen coming, Kyra and Riley realize that they might not be facing the end after all. Even more, they’re hit with the realization that what had started as a distraction might just turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to them. Assuming they can find somewhere safe.
This is the other novella I put out under another name, and just like More than Survival, the stories are similar but not exactly the same. There’s definitely more substance to the characters in this version, and as a result, it’s a much better story. Unlike More than Survival, I changed the title of this novella when I republished. The original title just didn’t seem to go with the revised story.
Like with More than Survival, I wrote the original version of this story over a weekend, publishing it in May 2015. This one takes place at the beginning of the apocalypse as a group of survivors are trapped in a school, and there’s plenty of zombie horror happening, which fans of zombie fiction will love. Other than that, there isn’t really much to say about it except that there are a couple kids in the story who disappear, and I’ve always meant to write something to let readers know what happened to them. Either another novella or making them characters in a series. Not sure when I’ll do that, but keep an eye out for it, because one day it will happen!
