I don’t know what happened, but somehow I skipped week 24 and went right to week 25 and this post never got published, so here we go with week 24!
Twisted Memories! Wow. That was a fun book to write. It’s one of the few I’ve written in third person, and the longest one at that point, and when I started, I really wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pull it off. I really enjoy first person POV so much more. But since this book goes back in time and fills the reader in on everything that happened during the 20 year gap between the Broken World series and Twisted World, I had to jump perspectives so much that writing from first person POV would have been unrealistic. Thankfully, it worked out and this ended up being a very dark and difficult book at times.
Like with most of my writing, I didn’t know exactly what was going to happen when I started this book, I just knew I needed to explain why the CDC would want to keep Angus and fill in the gaps. The story that evolved was emotional to say the least, but it is also a pivotal time for Angus because this is what changes him into the man we see in Angus.
