What can you tell us about writing of Moving On?
Moving On is the third book in the College of Charleston series and was part of the original book deal I got with Kensington Press back in 2014, and the second book I wrote on a deadline. This one, unlike No Regrets, didn’t stress me out for whatever reason. I’m not sure if I had just settled in to writing with a deadline hanging over me or if it was because I liked this story and these characters better, but I don’t remember struggling with it the way I did the second book in the series. One thing I do remember, however, was that I already had Bette’s backstory written. I’d had a spark of an idea about a girl who ran business where rich guys could invite her out for dates with parents, and had written the scene months before. When it came time to write Moving On, I decided to use the idea for Bette. Maybe that made starting the book easier. Who knows.
