Broken Stories is a compilation of short stories and novelettes that accompanies the Broken World series. From California to Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Colorado, listeners will get a glimpse at what other people went through before, during, and after the zombie virus outbreak.

Some of the characters featured in these stories have close ties to the main characters in the Broken World series, while others are brand-new. It’s an emotional, intense, and exciting look at how the zombie apocalypse has changed the world.

Since this is a collection of stories, things are going to be a little different this week, but still just as great!

Embracing the Insanity

This shorty is about Brady, who we first meet in Lost World when Vivian, Axl, Angus, and Parvarti save him from zombies. In the book, he takes them back to his gated community, which he has cleaned out on his own, and tells them a little bit about how he did it. In this story, we get to see exactly what happened after his wife died as he worked to clean up his neighborhood and bury the people who used to live around him. We also learn that he wasn’t a hundred percent honest with the group.

Brady appears in both Lost World and New World, as everyone knows, but (in case you weren’t aware) he also shows up in the third book of the Oklahoma Wastelands series, The Sweetest Torment.

There’s not a whole lot to talk about with this story, just the obvious, really. I wrote it because Brady is a character a lot of people liked and I wanted readers to be able get to know him a little more and learn some things about his past. It’s a pretty heartbreaking story to be honest, but it also highlights Brady’s determination to survive, which makes him that much more likable.
