After the longest winter of her life, Vivian is thrilled to have Ginny back at her side. But joy soon turns to shock when the group learns that not only is Hope Springs in contact with other survivors, but the CDC is working on a vaccine. And Angus could be the last hope for the human race.

What can you tell us about the setting Forgotten World?

I knew the group would be on the road when I started writing this book, but I hadn’t given much thought to where they’d travel until I was really deep into the book. The farmhouse was planned – I needed them to get stuck but also needed a safe place for Ginny to have her baby – but them ending up back on Route 66 wasn’t. I loved being able to bring them full circle, though, and I loved that they take shelter in the same diner where Vivian first saw Angus – and she even learns the fate of the snarky waitresses who sold her a five dollar cup of coffee all those months ago.

A lot of people have asked me about The Watchers, but the truth is, I never really had a plan for them other than to add a layer of creepiness to the group’s travels. Maybe one day I’ll have another character bump into them along the way, but at the moment, I don’t really know who they are. I do know they’re bad news, though.
